Irrigation & Outdoor Lighting in Milford, OH

Irrigation and outdoor lighting for Milford and eastern Clermont County.

Working in Milford

Milford sits where the east side turns wooded and the ground starts to roll. Lots here tend to have more tree cover than the Kentucky side, with shade across part of the lawn for most of the day and open sun on the rest.

The ground moves too. East of the river the land rolls more than it does across most of Boone County, and a lawn that falls away behind the house sheds water toward whatever sits at the bottom — often a patio, a walkout, or the foundation itself.

Sprinkler systems in Milford

We also install and service low-voltage landscape lighting in Milford — path lighting, uplighting on the house and the trees, and repairs to systems somebody else put in.

Where the water ends up

On rolling, wooded ground the drainage question usually arrives before the irrigation one. Roof water off a long eave, run-off down a grade and a walkout at the low point add up to a wet corner that no amount of mulch fixes. Buried extensions, pop-up emitters and dry wells move it somewhere deliberate. Once that is sorted, the tree cover here is the best lighting subject on either side of the river.

Milford questions

  • Half our lawn is under trees. Should it be on its own zone?

Yes. Shaded turf holds water much longer than turf in full sun, and putting them on one zone means overwatering one or underwatering the other.

  • Do tree roots get in the way of installation?

They dictate the route. We trench around established roots rather than through them, which protects both the tree and the line.

  • Is uplighting a tree different from lighting a house?

It is aimed differently and usually takes fewer fixtures. The canopy catches the light and gives the whole yard depth, which a lit facade on its own does not do.
